Castiglion Fiorentino

Ever since we arrived in Castiglion Fiorentino, I absolutely fell in love with it. In case y'all don't know, Castiglion Fiorentino, or most commonly known as Castiglion, is a small town in the Tuscan region just a few kilometers south of the beautiful city of Florence. It is about a 10 minute drive away from Arezzo and about 45 minutes away from Siena. It's gorgeous architecture, city walls and hilly setting truly make the city a site worth seeing at least once in a lifetime. Since last week, I have gotten the chance to see almost all there is to see in this little but painteresque town. Castiglion only has about 13,000 habitants; however, this does not take away from the fact that Castiglion is very rich when it comes to historic value. It has a lot of very antique churches, buildings, and one of the oldest clock towers in all of Italy.

The people for the most part are extremely welcoming and warm. In fact, for two days in a row, a small local club called "La Posta" gave us free pizza as a way of welcoming us into town. When we showed up, even the owners of the came up to the place to welcome us. So far I've had great experiences with all the locals I've met. Every time I've found myself needing help to get somewhere or know where something is, there has always been someone there to help. Everybody will stop to help if you need to be helped and they'll probably do something extra on the side. In short, my experience so far has been extraordinary and if you ever consider coming, you most definitely should.
